The Power of a RICH Life

The word rich is a cornerstone word in American culture. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are in our blood. But somewhere along the way, our pursuits have become tarnished with a narrow view of wealth. We have learned to believe that being rich only has to do with money. Here’s a news flash: big houses, fancy cars, and extravagant tastes don’t make you rich.

Some of the poorest people in the world are those whose bank accounts are full, but their hearts are empty.

I was on the fast track to learning that truth the hard way, but I had a moment of awakening. In 2007, I overheard five words whispered to my dying aunt that sent me on a journey to redefine rich in my own life. You can read that full story by clicking here.

My book, Redefine Rich, tells those stories and provides four practical principles to bring true wealth into perspective. But after I wrote the book, something special happened.

These principles blossomed into something much bigger than I ever anticipated.

Here are a few amazing stories about how this powerful perspective is changing lives.

Suzi Helps Women Break Free From Poverty

Suzi connected with me after she finished reading Redefine Rich. She teaches a financial class in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee and wanted to share the principles with those who attend.

Now, Suzi helps women break the chains of poverty and addiction and prostitution by teaching them about true wealth by sharing the RICH principles with them during their class.

Hope Where There is None

I cried when someone told me that they had shared the RICH principles with a friend who had just attempted suicide. I honestly had no idea how to respond. But when it happened again, I began to see a theme.

The stories in Redefine Rich and the practical steps we lay out have become a great roadmap for people as they walk through difficult situations. In essence, these principles help people see hope where they thought none existed.

The RICH Card Has Reached Australia

I created a RICH card to give away when I speak. It is a simple pocket-card that provides a daily reminder of the four principles. If we want to change our life, we have to change our focus.

One day, I shared a picture of the RICH card on Facebook. Within a few hours, it had been shared more than fifty times and people were emailing me from all over the country asking me how they could get one of these cards.

The crazy thing is, they’re not for sale. So, I started sending out these cards for free.

Just last week, I received word that someone in Australia had received their card.

The RICH Life Challenge

After I began to see how these principles were shaping people’s perspective of what it means to be rich, I decided to create something for you to dive deeper. I wanted to help people begin to uncover the RICH principles in their own life.

What emerged was the RICH Life Challenge, a 7-day devotional series to uncover a rich life—a life of purpose and true wealth.

More than 120 people joined me for the first installment of the Challenge and many said it was one of their most impactful weeks of the year.

Now, I’ve made the RICH Life Challenge available to everyone.

If you’re looking for a catalyst to shift your perspective and help you begin living on purpose, I think you should join us.

This is just awesome! I have given a couple books to people recently – Peyton’s hospice care nurse who helped us out tremendously in those last weeks, and her primary pediatrician in the hospital. I truly feel like the message in your book – all of the RICH principles – needs to be spread far and wide. So excited to see how God is using you through this.
