The only way to become rich is to harness the power of investing. I’m sure you’ve heard the mantra: save early, save often. Without this simple and practical tool, the building of wealth would not be possible.
But what if there’s more to richness than we’ve come to understand?
What if there is a deeper, more complex, more fulfilled path to riches, one that material wealth can’t satisfy?
The more I ponder these questions and search for answers, the more I learn of their truth.
There is a true richness available to all of us. And it’s stories like the one you’ll see below that continue to confirm this truth.
But how do we obtain this personal richness?
Curiously, some of the same principles that apply to building financial wealth also lead to a RICH life.
Take investing for example, doesn’t our greatest feeling of satisfaction and significance coincide with our investment in the life of another?
In fact, our life is supposed to overflow and pour into the lives of others. It is the simplest acts which yield a lifetime of dividends.
I call this principle: Invest in Others
The Power of Holding Doors
Investing has little to do with how much you have, rather what you do with what you have and it occurs even in the simplest actions.
In a world full of noise and busyness, taking a few seconds to grab the door for someone is your free investment in that moment. By making the effort to hold a door for someone, you take the encounter to something deeper, something rich.
I ran across this video below and it illustrated the principle so well that I had to share it. Josh brings to life one of the greatest examples of this principle in action. In spite of his pain, he has found healing by investing in others.
To further cement this concept, I have recorded myself reading an excerpt from my book, Redefine Rich, which addresses this very practice.
Let’s use Josh’s example and make someone’s life rich, today.
